Scotty Hills is a Juno-nominated, award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and performer whose sound draws from old AM country radio, classic R&B, deep blues, and hard-won songcraft. Raised in Saskatoon, he began singing radio jingles at age four and came up on the North American blues circuit as a singing drummer before stepping forward under his own name.

The two time WCMA winner has built a career that runs from prairie roots and old AM radio to blues stages, Los Angeles writing rooms, and acclaimed original releases. Raised in Saskatoon, he grew up on a steady diet of classic country and R&B, beginning with radio jingles at age four and later falling hard for post-war Chicago blues.

Before stepping out front under his own name, Hills spent years on the North American blues circuit as a singing drummer, following in the lineage of artist-musicians for whom rhythm, feel, and voice were inseparable. He backed artists connected to the Chess Records tradition and shared stages with legends including Chuck Berry, Taj Mahal, Los Lobos, and R.L. Burnside, building his musical instincts from the bandstand up.

As a member of The Perpetrators, Hills earned a Juno Award nomination and a Western Canadian Music Award win as co-writer and producer. He later stepped out from behind the drums to release music under his own name, bringing with him a sound shaped by prairie soul, blues grit, classic songcraft, and a deep instinct for groove.

In 2014, Hills signed with Ole and travelled to Los Angeles to write and develop material in major-label sessions, collaborating with producers associated with Rihanna, Adele, and OneRepublic. In 2022, he was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for his songwriting on Magic Radio by Sargeant X Comrade.

Across every chapter of his career, Hills has brought together country heart, R&B feel, blues lineage, and a deep commitment to song.
